Looking to build an oasis of calm in your days? Why not pick up art journalling?

In just ten minutes a day, a balm for your soul.

Slowing Down: Art Journalling Workshop

Building a daily creative habit has been proven to rewire our brains, i.e., build new neural pathways that are invaluable in helping us learn new things, grow and heal. Let's learn how in just ten minutes a day, you can build this habit for your well-being.

If you think you can’t paint or draw, or that you don’t have a creative bone in your body, this is especially for you.

If you’re already doing something creative – whether you’re an artist, or a designer, this is for you if you’re craving some ways to fill your cup.

If you enjoy making art, but can never seem to find the time, this is for you.

What to expect:

3-4pm: A short introduction to art journaling, and my journey with it.

A look at various types and ideas for art journaling - illustration, abstract, collage, gratitude, travel, junk journals and more.

Tips to make it a Daily Habit

4-5pm: Time for hands-on journaling: We work with a few prompts, and try out some ways of journaling. There will be time for group sharing before we wrap up.

Note: The studio is an eco-friendly space with an open backyard and no air-conditioning, so please dress comfortably.

Meet your Facilitator: Shub

Hi, I'm Shub. Artist, Art Therapy Facilitator and Founder of Canvas of Calm. This workshop is my OG, stemming from my experience of using art journalling as a way to ground myself when I was a youngish and clueless, juggling a baby and full time work (not literally, phew!).

Hear from those who've been in our sessions

A Sense of Calm

Shub was very welcoming, creating a sense of calm within which I could reflect and respond to her prompts in a comfortable and safe environment.

Claire Chahil, Singapore

Exploration & Expression

A great session for creative exploration and expression! I'm so glad I invested time in myself to make art and in the process also made some lovely connections.

Krystle Nonis, Singapore

Calm in the Chaos

In 2019, as I was struggling to build or more so reconnect with my creative self, I discovered Shub’s visual journalling workshop.

Not only it helped me to rebuild my sketching practice but also gave me a canvas to express my feelings too. This became a calm in the chaos of 2020 - the year that it was.

Sweeha Panwar, India

Extremely Energizing

Shub's workshop was extremely energizing at a time when everything seemed to be emotionally draining.

It was two hours of my weekend that made me happy and took my mind off my worries! The prompts were extremely beneficial and enjoyable to complete.
